The Marvel41 is the first boat in the Marvel Ribs’ line to adopt the company’s new design language. This design language was created by nikos.manafis design studio to fit the company’s manufacturing methods and combine the aggressive character of the hulls with the luxury expected by the company’s clientele. For expressing aggression the design language uses flat polygonal surfaces that synthesize a brutal-almost military- minimalism. To take down a notch this brutality, a small selection of first degree curvatures are used to blend the highlights and reflections between the flat surfaces. This surfacing language compliments Marvel Ribs’ traditional manufacturing methods of hand-building wooden prototypes and overviewing every detail before taking moulds for mass production. The luxurious and elegant aspect is achieved in the detailing and colour and trim. The designed use of teak decking to signalize passages, automotive paints, bespoke inox handrails and all-comforts cabins are some of such details. The eccentric teak catwalk is an more elegant refference to supercar stripe decals.
